This
exhibition is the culmination of months of work and
secures her passion for the sea, the light and coastal
fringes both near and far.
Paintings
and original prints compare coastal landscapes from
travels around two World Heritage Sites: the amazing
Purbeck coast and a tiny island (seen from the air)
off the south coast of Iceland. The Jurassic Coast
received its award in 2001, while the island of Surtsey,
which emerged from an undersea eruption only 40 years
ago, was awarded WHS status in 2008.
Antonia
travels regularly to Iceland to paint, thriving in
colder climates and winter sun and her palette naturally
reflects this. Known for her talent in capturing atmosphere
and movement with bird flight along coastlines, her
paintings and recent monoprints are informed by coastal
forms, shape and texture.
